I am. I am. I am.: [Content: ableism, eugenics, pseudo-science]
All right, followers, I’m going to say stuff that some of y’all may not enjoy. Fair warning given. Off I go. So, here’s the thing about this “standard.” In the world of tumblr, people seem to forget, in their internet crusade for…
just noticed that person’s name is “cruelfeline”
cruel is right
Absolutely.
And followers, I apologize for the crappy formatting on my OP. I wrote my reply in Word and then couldn’t do anything with the quotes button once I pasted it, so there you have it.
I’d rather hire an autistic person who needs a time-out every now and then than a bigotted scumbag like the OP.
Exactly.
Honestly, I’m beyond freaked out about trying to get a job in the fall (when both my kids will be in school full time). Because you know what? I had a really good deal four years ago and I didn’t even realize it. My stimming was assumed to be just a result of too much caffeine (easy assumption to make in a coffee shop, I suppose). No one but me wanted to put away the pastry/coffee orders that came in on Tue/Thur afternoons. So I would take a break from being social and would organize, which is something I’m fairly good at.
Will I be able to find that again? I don’t know. I honestly don’t.
And I think that says something about our society, that I’m terrified to go back to work because I’ll likely be discriminated against at best or assumed to be a caffeine or other stimulant addict because of my trembling hands at worst. Perhaps if fewer people thought like the OP, things would be better. But right now, they’re not. And I know I have privilege over a LOT of other people. I know that. I know that if I wanted to cause myself constant anxiety, I could pass for nondisabled. But the cost for me is too high. It’s the difference between being able to be awake when my kids get home from school or being able to physically get up to get my kids ready for school (something I have to do) and not being able to. If the OP thinks that “passing” has zero costs, they’re full of shit.
What an awful person the OP is
